(670 The Score) In a showcase two-game series in Tokyo to open the new MLB season, the Cubs were swept by the mighty Dodgers.
After a 4-1 loss in the opener, the Cubs fell 6-3 in the Tokyo Dome on Wednesday to drop to 0-2. Though the Cubs had eight hits and drew seven walks Wednesday, the mustered just four runs across the two games as they routinely failed to come up with big hits in key moments. The Cubs were 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position Wednesday.
It left David Haugh feeling a lot like he did when the Cubs won 83 games in a disappointing 2024 season.
"It felt like we were watching the 163rd and 164th games of 2024 with the Cubs batters striking out, looking like they can't get on base,” Haugh said on the morning show Wednesday.
"It seemed like everything that could've gone wrong did.”
