(670 The Score) During the third inning of the Cubs' eventual 7-1 win against the Cardinals on Wednesday evening at Wrigley Field, president of business operations Crane Kenney joined the Cubs Radio broadcast on 670 The Score to announce three new selections into the team's Hall of Fame.

Kenney revealed that the three-man class for 2022 included Jose Cardenal and Buck O'Neil, then handed over the details on the third member to Cubs Radio play-by-play announcer Pat Hughes. As Hughes glanced down at the sheet of paper, he found that it was his name listed as a new member to the Cubs' Hall of Fame.
"I don't even know what to say," Hughes said upon learning the news.
The organization's new class of 2022 was selected by five Cubs Hall of Famers -- Andre Dawson, Fergie Jenkins, Ryne Sandberg, Lee Smith and Billy Williams -- as well as eight media members.
Hughes has worked for 27 years as the radio voice of the Cubs. Hall of Fame plaques will be unveiled on Sept. 10 at Wrigley Field.
