(670 The Score) White Sox star center fielder Luis Robert Jr. will miss the remainder of the regular season with a mild MCL sprain in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.

Robert’s recovery timeline is expected to be two to four weeks as he rests and rehabs. He was officially placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. The White Sox’s regular season will end Sunday.

"It's a minor injury," White Sox general manager Chris Getz said Tuesday afternoon while adding there was no sense in pushing Robert while he was ailing.

Robert produced a strong 2023 season, earning All-Star honors for the first time and hitting .264 with 38 homers, 80 RBIs and an .857 OPS in 145 games.

In corresponding roster moves Tuesday, the White Sox selected the contract of outfielder Tyler Naquin from Triple-A Charlotte and transferred right-hander Jimmy Lambert to the 60-day injured list.
