(670 The Score) The White Sox on Wednesday reinstated outfielder Eloy Jimenez from his rehab assignment amid a series of roster moves.
Jimenez has been sidelined since suffering a torn hamstring tendon behind his right knee back on April 23. Jimenez hit .246 with two homers and seven RBIs in 17 games in a rehab stint with Triple-A Charlotte recently. He was hitting .222 with one homer, seven RBIs and a .590 OPS in 11 games for the White Sox before being hurt early in the season.
Jimenez will play left field and hit sixth when the White Sox host the Twins on Wednesday afternoon in their series finale at Guaranteed Rate Field.
In other moves, the White Sox placed infielder Jake Burger (right hand bone bruise) on the 10-day injured list, placed right-hander Vince Velasquez (blister on right index finger) on the 15-day injured list, recalled right-hander Jimmy Lambert and transferred infielder Danny Mendick (season-ending ACL tear) to the 60-day injured list.
Burger is hitting .250 with eight homers and 26 RBIs in 51 for the White Sox this season.
Velasquez has a 5.21 ERA in 14 games, including nine starts. Lambert has posted a 3.45 ERA in nine games, including two starts.
