(670 The Score) The White Sox have activated outfielder Eloy Jimenez from the injured list and placed third baseman Yoan Moncada on the injured list due to lower back soreness.
Jimenez had a minimum 10-day stay on the injured list for a hamstring injury, which he suffered in the White Sox home opener April 3. He was placed on the injured list two days later. Jimenez is 4-for-20 hitting this season.
Moncada has been sidelined this week with the lower back soreness. His injured list stint is retroactive to April 11. He is hitting .308 in nine games this season.
The White Sox recalled left-hander Tanner Banks from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned right-hander Jesse Scholtens. Utility player Nick Solak was claimed off waivers from the Mariners and optioned him to Charlotte. The team also transferred right-hander Matt Foster (right flexor strain) to the 60-day injured list.
The White Sox open a three-game series with the Orioles on Friday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
