(670 The Score) The White Sox on Monday activated third baseman Yoan Moncada from the injured list and optioned infielder Jake Burger to Triple-A Charlotte amid a series of roster moves.
Additionally, Chicago activated reliever Joe Kelly from the injured list and placed reliever Aaron Bummer on the injured list.
Moncada hasn’t appeared in a game yet this season due to a right oblique strain that sent him to the injured list in early April. He hit .263 with 14 homers, 61 RBIs and a .787 OPS in 144 games in 2021.
Burger, 26, was hitting .239 with two homers, seven RBIs and a .628 OPS in 21 games this season.
Like Moncada, Kelly hasn’t appeared in a game yet this season. He had suffered from a right biceps nerve injury. He had a 2.86 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 48 appearances for the Dodgers in 2021.
Bummer has hit the injured list due to a right knee strain. He has a 4.91 ERA in 12 appearances for the White Sox this year.
