(670 The Score) White Sox closer Liam Hendriks is cancer-free, he announced Thursday afternoon on social media.

In early April, Hendriks revealed that he had finished chemotherapy treatments for Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a diagnosis he initially revealed in January. On Thursday, Hendriks posted a series of videos on Instagram that included him writing, “It’s official, I’m cancer-free.”

It’s unclear when Hendriks could return to action for the White Sox, who didn’t place him on the 60-day injured list to open the season because they were hopeful that he might be return within that two-month frame.

Hendriks, 34, is coming off an All-Star campaign in 2022, when he had 37 saves and posted a 2.81 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 58 appearances.
