(670 The Score) The White Sox made a series of roster moves ahead of a three-game series with the Rays at Tropicana Field.

The White Sox recalled right-hander Davis Martin from Triple-A Charlotte and have slated him to start Friday night's game with the Rays. Starter Vince Velasquez (right groin strain) was placed on the 15-day injured list.

Martin allowed one earned run and five hits with seven strikeouts during his major-league debut May 17 against the Royals in Kansas City. The 25-year-old Martin was a 14th-round pick for the White Sox in the 2018 MLB Draft. Velasquez is 2-5 with a 5.30 in seven starts and eight appearances this season.

The White Sox activated starter Dylan Cease and reliever Kendall Graveman from the restricted list. Both players were placed on that list Tuesday, presumptively because of vaccination statuses. Players who are unvaccinated are not permitted to play games in Toronto.

Cease is 4-2 with a 3.69 ERA in 10 starts this season. Graveman is 1-1 with a 2.78 ERA over 22 2/3 innings of work.

The White Sox optioned right-handers Jimmy Lambert and Kyle Crick to Triple-A Charlotte in corresponding roster moves.
