(670 The Score) The White So have claimed right-hander Touki Toussaint off waivers from the Guardians, the club announced Tuesday.
Toussaint, who turned 27 on Tuesday, was recently designated for assignment by the Guardians. He has posted a 5.33 ERA over parts of six MLB seasons. Toussaint made one start for Cleveland this season, working 3 2/3 innings and allowing two earned runs.
Toussaint could quickly have a chance to factor into the White Sox’s rotation, which is quite thin since No. 5 starter Mike Clevinger went down with an injury recently.
Toussaint had posted a 4.06 ERA in 20 appearances for Triple-A Columbus this season.
The White Sox host the Rangers on Tuesday evening at Guaranteed Rate Field.
