White Sox outright 4 players, who all become free agents

(670 The Score) The White Sox have outrighted right-hander Jimmy Cordero, right-hander Evan Marshall, left-hander Jace Fry and outfielder Brian Goodwin to Triple-A Charlotte, and all four of them will now become free agents, the team announced Friday.

Cordero, 30, didn’t pitch for the White Sox in 2021 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He had a 6.08 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 30 appearances in 2020.

Marshall, 31, had a 5.60 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 27 appearances for the White Sox this past season.

Fry, 28, had a 10.80 ERA and 2.40 WHIP in six appearances in an injury-plagued season in 2021.

Goodwin, 31, hit .221 with eight homers, 29 RBIs and a .693 OPS in 72 games this past season.

In an additional move, the White Sox purchased the contract of left-hander Anderson Severino, who had a 2.36 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 40 appearances split between Double-A and Triple-A in 2021. Severino is 27 years old.

The White Sox’s 40-man roster now sits at 34 players.
