(670 The Score) The White Sox on Friday placed center fielder Luis Robert on the 10-day injured list as he continues to suffer from lightheadedness and blurred vision.

Robert hasn’t played since last Friday, when he exited the White Sox’s win against the Twins with those symptoms. He didn’t participate in baseball activities at all over the All-Star break.

With his trip to the injured list backdated, Robert will be eligible to return as soon as next Friday, but that’s no certainty as he deals with puzzling, concerning symptoms.

“We have gone through a handful of tests in Minnesota as well as Chicago and at this point, his symptoms have not fully resolved,” White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said.

“At this time, we are cautiously optimistic that he’ll be able to return at that time (next Friday). Obviously, I don’t have all the information exactly on the timeline, but that’s very tentatively what we’re looking at right now.”

Much of Robert’s trouble is seeing from a distance, Hahn said, adding that the symptoms affected him more in the field than at the plate. The White Sox are unsure of what caused Robert's issues, Hahn said.

Robert is hitting .301 with 12 homers, 54 RBIs, 11 steals and a .795 OPS in 74 games this season. Adam Engel is expected to get a majority of the playing time in center field with Robert out.

In a corresponding move Friday, the White Sox reinstated catcher Yasmani Grandal, who has been sidelined since June 11 due to back issues. Grandal is in the starting lineup as the White Sox host the Guardians on Friday evening. He’s hitting .185 with two homers, 15 RBIs and a .531 OPS in 50 games.

Outfielder Eloy Jimenez is also back in the lineup after he missed the final four games before the All-Star break due to leg soreness.
