(670 The Score) The White Sox have placed right-hander Mike Clevinger on the 15-day injured list with right biceps inflammation, the club announced Friday.

The move is retroactive to Thursday. Clevinger exited early in his start against the Dodgers on Wednesday evening, leaving in the fifth inning with the biceps discomfort. The team has found no structural damage in Clevinger’s elbow or shoulder.

"I guess the best news possible,” Clevinger told Scott Merkin of MLB.com. “There’s no structural damage. Shoulder, elbow looks good. Just some fluid in the bicep. It’s day-by-day right now."

Clevinger is 3-4 with a 3.88 ERA in 12 starts this season.

In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled right-hander Jesse Scholtens from Triple-A Charlotte. He has a 3.24 ERA in 16 2/3 innings across five appearances for Chicago this season.
