White Sox reinstate Mike Clevinger, Elvis Andrus from injured list

(670 The Score) The White Sox have reinstated right-hander Mike Clevinger and infielder Elvis Andrus from the injured list, they announced Friday.

Clevinger had been sidelined since May 17 due to right wrist inflammation. He’s 3-3 with a 4.56 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in nine starts this season. Clevinger will start when the White Sox host the Tigers on Friday evening.

Andrus hadn’t played since May 12 due to a left oblique strain. He’s hitting .201 with one homer, 13 RBIs and a .534 OPS in 39 games.

In other roster moves, the White Sox designated infielder Hanser Alberto for assignment and optioned right-hander Jesse Scholtens to Triple-A Charlotte. Alberto was hitting .220 with three homers and 16 RBIs in 30 games. Scholtens has a 3.24 ERA in five appearances for the White Sox this season.
