(670 The Score) White Sox star shortstop Tim Anderson is expected to land on the injured list after suffering a groin injury.
Anderson left the White Sox’s 5-4 win over the Cubs on Sunday with what the team initially called a right groin strain. He suffered the injury fielding a groundball at shortstop during the fifth inning. White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Anderson will go to the injured list though the team was still determining the extent of the injury Sunday afternoon.
The 28-year-old Anderson is hitting .356 this season. The White Sox have not made a corresponding roster move yet.
White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez left his rehab game Saturday with right leg soreness. The team said he is considered day-to-day. Jimenez is working in Triple-A Charlotte after suffering a hamstring injury on April 23.
The White Sox travel to Toronto for a three-game series with the Blue Jays beginning Tuesday.
