(670 The Score) The White Sox have begun their selloff prior to MLB's Aug. 1 trade deadline.

The White Sox have traded starter Lucas Giolito and reliever Reynaldo Lopez to the Angels in exchange for switch-hitting catcher Edgar Quero and left-handed pitcher Ky Bush.

The deal was made official on Wednesday night after the White Sox squandered a five-run lead in a 10-7 loss to the Cubs at Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox fell to 41-62 on the season.

Giolito, 29, was set to become a free agent after this season. He is 6-6 with a 3.79 ERA over 21 starts this season. Lopez, also 29, was 2-5 with a 4.29 ERA over 43 relief appearances this season.

Quero, 20, is rated as the No. 2 overall prospect in the Angels' organization, according to MLB Pipeline. Bush, 23, is the Angels' No. 3 prospect.

The White Sox acquired Giolito and Lopez together as part of a December 2017 trade with the Nationals.
