(670 The Score) The White Sox have traded outfielder Robbie Grossman to the Rangers for minor league pitcher Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa, the club announced Wednesday morning.
It will be a reunion for Grossman in Texas, as he played for the Rangers when they won the World Series in 2023. He was hitting .211 with no homers, four RBIs and a .597 OPS in 25 games for the White Sox this season after joining the organization on a minor league deal in March.
The 23-year-old right-hander Hoopii-Tuionetoa has posted a 0.00 ERA in 12 relief appearances at Double-A this season. He’ll report to Double-A Birmingham for the White Sox. He had a 2.96 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 19 relief appearances across three levels in 2023.
In another roster move Wednesday, the White Sox selected the contract of infielder Zach Remillard from Triple-A Charlotte.
