Report: White Sox trade reliever Tanner Banks to Phillies

(670 The Score) The White Sox have agreed to trade lefty reliever Tanner Banks to the Phillies, Russell Dorsey of Yahoo Sports reported Tuesday afternoon just before the deadline.

In return, the White Sox will receive Class-A infielder William Bergolla, Dorsey reported.

Banks, 32, had posted a 4.13 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 41 appearances for the White Sox this season. He had posted a 3.89 ERA across three MLB seasons in Chicago. Banks will join an MLB-best Phillies team that has World Series aspirations.

Bergolla, 19, was hitting .295 with one homer, 19 RBIs and a .735 OPS in 67 games at high-A Jersey Shore this season. He was rated as the 11th-best prospect in the Phillies’ system.
