Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident Tuesday morning in southern California which required him to be extricated with the “jaws of life,” according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
He is currently in the hospital being treated for "multiple leg injuries," according to his agent.
Woods was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard when he crashed his car in a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision.
His vehicle sustained major damage and Woods was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, released a statement which confirmed the extent of the injuries.
MSNBC also had footage of the car after the wreck.
Golf Digest reported that the 45-year-old was in California for a two-day content shoot with the publication after serving as host of the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational over the weekend.
Pictures on social media showed Woods at Rolling Hills Country Club on Monday with Dwayne Wade and David Spade.
Woods has not played in any PGA Tour events this year after undergoing back surgery at the end of December. He told Jim Nantz of CBS on Sunday that he was still awaiting the results of an MRI before he could determine when he could play again.
