CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Morton Grove Police released surveillance video believed to be connected to the fatal hit-and-run of an 86-year-old man in early January.
Leonid Belogur, 86, was struck and killed on Jan. 4 at Shermer Road and Greenwood Street, according to Morton Grove police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The driver who hit Belogur left the scene.
The Morton Grove Police Department continued to investigate the fatal crash.
"Though we are continuing to work with our partners to further enhance the video images, we know that the vehicle is a light colored four door vehicle with windshield damage and possibly front end damage," police said in their Facebook post.
The black-and-white video shows a light-colored sedan passing by in the upper right corner of the screen.
The car is seen driving south from the scene of the crash.
Earlier this month, police released a image of a suspected car, that led to some leads.
Investigators are continuing to scour the area, handing out informational flyers and speaking with residents.
The family of Leo Belogur, who initially offered a reward of $10,000, has increased the reward to $20,000, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Morton Grove Police Department at 847-470-5200 or Cook County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-535-STOP.
