Kanye West is reportedly headed to South Carolina to host his first presidential campaign rally Sunday.
West announced his campaign on the 4th of July with a tweet, using the hashtag #2020VISION. Much speculation surrounded his short-notice campaign, with many wondering if he still had time to get on the ballot in many states.
Now, West has announced that he's heading to the Exquis Event Center in North Charleston, South Carolina on Sunday for a 5 pm campaign rally preceded by a press event. The event is for registered guests only, per the press release shared with ABC News.
The campaign website, Kanye2020.country, does not appear to have a registration option for the event, nor does the event appear on the venue's website.
That said, the deadline to register as an independent candidate in South Carolina was July 15, and the state does not allow for write-in candidates.
The news of the rally comes on the heels of a separate announcement that West's bid for president was over.
On Saturday, West tweeted to followers, urging potential voters to help him get on the South Carolina ballot, writing, "Hi guys please sign up to put me on the ballot in South Carolina at any of these locations." The tweet was accompanied by a list of locations.
All attendees of the Sunday press conference will be asked to sign a coronavirus liability form, social distance, and wear a face mask to cut down on COVID-19 transmission.
It was reported by TMZ that Caitlyn Jenner even reached out to West, hoping to become his Vice President.
