During Brandi’s concert this summer at the Gorge Amphitheater in the band’s home state of Washington, Carlile was joined by Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd to give fans another live taste of what she would ultimately like to make a recurring role, performing the classics “Black Hole Sun” and “Searching With My Good Eye Closed” which she recorded for RSD 2020 for her A Rooster Says EP.

Speaking with Rolling Stone's Music Now podcast, Carlile says she would like to make her frontwoman status permanent, adding that she would even "make the time” to hit the road with the beloved band. “I am such a Chris Cornell fan,” Brandi admits. “I loved him so much. I was so devastated when he left us.”
