ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- A Roseville police officer’s act of kindness has caught the attention of local residents.
While on patrol on Tuesday evening, Sgt. Anthony Coraci encountered a man who was experiencing financial hardship.
The man, who is is currently homeless, only had an old pair of hospital socks on his feet, which were worn through.
Seeing the situation, Sgt. Coraci brought the man to the Meijer in Roseville, and bought him some shoes and food with money out of his own pocket.
Another citizen witnessed the interaction between the officer and the man, and posted it on social media.
“To the Roseville officer in truck 71 you are such an amazing person for doing what you did for the young homeless man,” Sharon Huddleston wrote in a Facebook post. “You didn’t have to get him shoes and food and you still went out of your way to help … we need more kind hearted people like you In this world.”
According to a statement from officials at the Roseville Police Department, Sgt. Coraci did not tell anyone about the act of kindness, and when asked, he simply said it was needed and the right thing to do.
