Berlin, N.J. (WBEN) - A.C. Moore will close all of its stores. The Arts & Crafts store chain is going out of business.
Michaels craft chain will take over the leases of some of the stores and re-open them under the Michaels name in 2020.
A.C. Moore is located in McKinley Plaza in Blasdell.
In a release, Anthony Piperno, CEO of Nicole Crafts said "unfortunately, given the headwinds facing many retailers in today's environment, it made it very difficult for us to operate and compete on a national level."
A.C. Moore operates 145 stores.
Orders are no longer being taken on their website but A.C. Moore will still honor those confirmed prior to Monday.
The company said specifics about store closures will be made in the coming weeks.
Locally, A.C. Moore faced competition from Michaels and Hobby Lobby.
