Batavia, NY (WBEN) Today will mark another honor for David Bellavia. The Medal of Honor recipient will receive the Key to the City of Batavia.
Moore says the 2pm ceremony will be straightforward. The plaque will be read out loud, and then the key will be given to Bellavia, followed by Bellavia's acceptance speech.
The event is open to the public, and there are two things to keep in mind:
- City administrative offices will be closed beginning at 1:30 PM until the conclusion of the presentation
- Jefferson Avenue between Main Street and the north entrance to Wendy’s/Tim Hortons’ will be closed to traffic beginning at 1:30 PM until the conclusion of the presentation
