BUFFALO (WBEN) - The strength of the City of Good Neighbors shines once again as Bills Defensive End Jerry Hughes, his wife Meghan, as well as the Pegula Covid-19 Fund, donated 400 meals to Buffalo Police and Fire.
Police Captain Steven Nichols and Fire Commissioner William Renaldo said they're grateful for the display of appreciation.
"The outpouring from the community has just been phenomenal," said Nichols. "As much as we appreciate the meals, we just appreciate how everyone is feeling about first responders in general."
"The outpouring of generosity of the community in general and the Bills organization, and of course Jerry and his family, it's really important," added Renaldo. "Everyone likes to be appreciated - this is the City of Good Neighbors."
The meals were prepared and delivered by The Grange Community Kitchen in Hamburg. Caryn Dujanovich is co-owner, and she says they're just happy to be a part of the solution during this pandemic.
"Any way we can help Buffalo is something that we're extremely willing to do," she said. "We're extremely grateful that Jerry Hughes and the Buffalo Bills are including us in all of these donations."
