BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo City Court on Wednesday morning was evacuated because of a gas leak.

The gas leak was first reported shortly after 8:45 a.m. because of a leaking boiler on the roof of the building.

"It leaked natural gas into the hallway," Buffalo Fire Division Chief Paul Graham said. "They opened the door to get some fresh air and it back-filled the stairway with some natural gas. The building was ventilated and the boiler was shut down. They are going to be tested prior to being put back in place."

This is the second time in recent weeks that Buffalo City Court was evacuated due to a gas leak. Graham said they take every call of a gas leak seriously.

"Complacency will get you hurt," Graham said. "We can't be complacent. Every call is treated the same and we have to make sure everybody is safe and we do our job."

No injuries were reported.
