BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – The Buffalo Teacher’s Federation is calling for the removal of the administrators involved in the reopening committee at Buffalo Public Schools.
BTF President Phil Rumore is accusing district leaders of making the school’s reopening plans a secret.
“This District’s secrecy, lack of involvement of stakeholders and lack of time devoted to develop a safe reopening plan for our schools that will, if done incorrectly, result in the loss of lives or severe physical injury, as well as undermining the education of our students, is a betrayal of trust and its responsibilities to our community,” BTF President Phil Rumore said in a statement.
The teacher’s union highlighted six meetings held between June 2 and July 29 and added the Elementary and Secondary subcommittees have not met since June 16. They also said the district has only made oral presentations and has not distributed any documents to stakeholders.
