BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Six public outdoor pools in the City of Buffalo and two wading pools opened for the season on Monday morning.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown made the announcement that the six pools are open for the summer seasons.
"We believe that we have the best pools in the entire region," Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said. "We've made the investments so that our families and children can enjoy them."
The only one that is not open the Allison outdoor pool on Rees Street, which has ongoing repairs. The Lovejoy indoor pool was closed on June 28 for physical improvements and will be closed for the remainder of the season.
Since 2006, Buffalo has invested more than $12 million to upgrade and maintain pools.
