Coach Accused of Soliciting Sex With Minor Appears in Court

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - A girls basketball coach accused of soliciting sex with a minor appeared in a Buffalo courtroom Thursday.

Francesco Maccarrone has been charged disseminating indecent materials to a minor, which is a class D felony, along with endangering the welfare of a child for actions that took place over the course of a year.

Maccarrone, who was a volunteer at a local YMCA and girls basketball and soccer coach for various teams, allegedly sent text messages to a girl that became sexual in nature, even after he was made awar of her age.

If convicted, Maccarrone faces seven years in prison.
