Lockport, N.Y. (WBEN) - Niagara County's coronavirus death toll jumped to 87 Thursday following the deaths of eight more residents.
Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel Stapleton said the deaths occurred between May 4 and June 11. "The passing of these Niagara County residents occurred in hospitals outside of Niagara County but the Niagara County Department of Health was not made aware until this week," said Stapleton. "We send our belated condolences to the families and friends of these individuals."
All 8 were over the age of 70.

- An 84 year-old male with underlying health conditions
- An 89 year-old male with underlying health conditions
- Another 89 year-old male with underlying health conditions
- A 97 year-old male with underlying health conditions
- A 71 year-old female with underlying health conditions
- A 78 year-old female with underlying health conditions
- A 94 year-old female with underlying health conditions
Niagara County is reporting five new positive cases for a total of 1205 cases. 1061 people have recovered. 24,328 people have been tested.
