HAMBURG, N.Y. (WBEN) - A business owner in the Town of Hamburg will serve a one-year conditional discharge after he failed to pay four years of state sales taxes.
James Rath admitted to the crime of attempted grand larceny in September. He failed to pay $40,661.63 in New York State sales tax between March 2014 and February 2018.
Rath,60, owns Wanakah Grill located at 2293 Pleasant Avenue in Lake View. He has since paid full restitution.
