BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – Despite rough roads and constant urging from public officials to not be outdoors, some Western New Yorkers braved the elements.
We spoke with several people in a parking lot in Cheektowaga after they finished shopping and asked why they were outside.
"My son needed snacks," one man said. "And I have a jeep."
That same person told WBEN that people should stay home.

Other people felt unfazed by the cold and winter storm and thought that the storm wasn't that bad without the wind.
"It's bad enough, I guess," another person told us.
Still, some people were required to report to work. One local toll collector told us that she was out and about because of a doctor's appointment but she just finished her shift.
"If I have to do it, I might as well be getting paid for it," she said.
Another person who was required work told us that he could have been home shoveling but that he has a family to feed and he'll be at work again on Thursday.
