BUFFALO (WBEN) - A man is in custody following a wild police chase that involved a stolen vehicle and multiple police agencies.
a Buffalo man is in custody after stealing a car and then leading police on a chase that began on Route 198 in the City of Buffalo.
The pursuit was picked up by Amherst Police officers who responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at the corner of Maple and Transit Road.
According to police, Stephen Gebura of Buffalo, rammed an Amherst patrol vehicle and continued driving down Maple, then Brighton in the Town of Tonawanda. He eventually struck a vehicle at the corner of Sheridan and Delaware where the chase ended.
Gebura attempted to flee, but was arrested at the scene. Amherst Police say that one officer hurt his hand in the chase, and that two bystanders had to be taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital for minor injuries.
