BUFFALO (WBEN) - There's no question that Republican nominee Chris Jacobs came into Tuesday as the favorite in both the GOP Primary race for New York's 27th Congressional District and the Special Election against Democratic nominee Nate McMurray.

Many weren't expecting results for the races to be declared on Tuesday night due to the sheer volume of absentee ballots, but primary candidate Stefan Mychajliw conceded to Jacobs within a couple hours after polls closed.

Jacobs spoke with WBEN's David Bellavia Tuesday night.

"We feel like the primary is locked up, and we won that handily," said Jacobs.

"We've said all along that voters should have the final say on who the nominee is going to be and not party bosses, and we will live with the results - good, bad or indifferent," he said.
