"This is the type of investment that we're making in the State of New York - saying that we are stewards of our environment, we are keepers of the future even now," Hochul began. "That's why the governor and I announced that we'll have a real deal Clean New Deal, we've been working on this for years, but to set out the goal of making sure that all energy is carbon-free by 2040 in the State of New York - 100-percent carbon-free electricity."
Kulleseid says this announcement continues the trend of Niagara Falls State Park being a leader in progressive energy measures.
"At America's oldest state park, we are early adopters of innovation and sustainability," he said. "The solar array over our heads was among the first in our whole system; the trolley fleet that is iconic for these falls runs on natural gas, and most of the vehicles, the park vehicles, are electric vehicles."
