NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Niagara County Sheriff's Office arrested a Lockport man for a hit-and-run that seriously injured a volunteer firefighter last Sunday.
Authorities announced the arrest of Matthew S. Hufnagel. Hufnagel, 35, is accused of hitting the volunteer fireman on Tonawanda Creek Road at Minnick Road on August 18.
After a police interview on Friday night, Hufnagel was charged with leaving the scene of a serious physical injury accident, disobeying a traffic control device, and disobeying a police officer or flag person.
He will appear in Lockport Town Court on September 3 at 9 a.m.
