Molotov cocktail thrown into West Side home

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Six people escaped from a home at 171 Breckenridge Street after someone allegedly threw a molotov cocktail into their home on Wednesday morning.

Three people, including two children, were taken to Oishei Children's Hospital to be examined after the alleged arson at 5:30 a.m.. A city spokesperson said the fire caused smoke inhalation to one Buffalo Police officer, who was taken to ECMC for treatment.


The Red Cross is assisting the people who were impacted by the fire. The damage to the home is estimated at $240,000. 

Investigators are questioning two people of interest in connection to the alleged arson. Police did not announce any arrests as of Wednesday morning.
