Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Police are busy investigating a series of multiple shootings over the first official weekend of summer.
Four people were struck by gunfire during what police describe as a "large car gathering" at the foot of Ferry Street around 3:30 Sunday morning. All four males had to be transported to the hospital, with at least one suffering serious injuries.
Late Sunday Buffalo police announced they investigating a possible overnight shooting in the City of Buffalo. Police received a call from State police in Rochester stating they had a victim pulled over at approximately 3:30am that was shot multiple times. The victim told State police the incident occurred near Bailey Avenue about 1am. The victim was being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
In another overnight shooting incident, police responded to the call just after 4:30am near Grider Street and East Ferry. The 30 year old Buffalo male was struck by gunfire in the leg and is being treated at ECMC for apparent non-life threatening injuries.
And police say two people were struck by gunfire overnight at approximately 12:10am. Police say the incident happened in the 400 block of Guilford Street. A 27 year old Buffalo male is listed in stable condition at ECMC. A 34 year old male with Buffalo and Depew addresses was treated and released from ECMC.
In total, eight were struck by gunfire across the separate incidents on Sunday.
