Hamburg, NY (WBEN) Hamburg Police say a man fatally shot his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself early Wednesday morning.
"We got a phone call at approximately 3:30 this morning about a male who had called saying he shot his girlfriend and was intending to kill himself," said Hamburg Police Lt. Nicholas Ugale. "We had some officers respond to the scene and shortly thereafter, did hear a gunshot...at that point they made entry and found a deceased female and a deceased male in the apartment complex."
The shooter was identified as Kevin Kopper, 31, and the victim has been identified as Danielle Morse, 25. According to neighbors, the couple had only resided at 4065 Loring Avevue for approximately 3 months.
Ugale says that police had not been called to the residence before this incident. However, Danielle Morse's Facebook page may reveal some clues regarding what life was like in the house before the incident.
There was also a recent update on the Facebook page of an individual named Kevin Kopper.
Ugale says the investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
