The boat recently completed a trip around the tip of Manhattan, through the New York State Canal System, Lake Ontario and to the Katherine Street slip in Buffalo, a distance of approximately 700 nautical miles. The Breaker II joins a fleet of three other boats to help install the region’s iconic ice boom and help keep the Niagara River flowing, preventing ice jams for power production and alleviating potential flooding along the river.
