
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - In an election that saw all nine seats on the Buffalo Board of Education on the ballot, the unofficial results will lead to some new faces on the board as well as some returning faces.
In the at-large districts, the top three vote recipients are Ann Rivera, Terrance Heard and Lawrence Scott.
Kathy Evans-Brown won the closest race, defeating Patricia Elliott 52-48% for the East District board seat.
Lou Petrucci won the Park district seat over Austin Harig.
The slate of candidates for the election was sixteen deep.
Incumbent board members Barbara Nevergold, Patricia Pierce, and Larry Quinn opted to not run for re-election.
The Buffalo Public Schools operates on an annual budget of more than $1 billion and the new board will be working to negotiate a new contract with the Buffalo Teachers Federation.
