NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WBEN) – New York State is allocating $950,000 in grant money to combat invasive plant species and to cultivate native plants at the Niagara Gorge.
Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said this is part of the "Restore the Gorge" initiative.

We need to make sure the invasive species don't take over and destroy the ecosystem that exist here now. There are over 300 bird species here. That's on par with the Galapagos."
