NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WBEN) - Niagara County is reporting 16 new positive cases of coronavirus, bringing the county's total to 410 positive cases.

Of those cases, 182 have recovered. However, 20 of the 207 people who are fighting the disease are currently in the hospital.

There are 21 people who have died from coronavirus in Niagara County. Nobody died from coronavirus over the weekend.

More than 2,000 people have been tested, though more testing is on the way according to Public Health Director Dan Stapleton.

"400 people since Friday have been tested," Stapleton said. "That's what we need to continue to do. We've been pushing out a lot of testing kits to the nursing homes. We were able to get additional kits from the Erie County Department of Health and through Kaleida to get a focused approach and focus on what the nursing homes need."

There will also be a drive-thru testing site at Niagara County Community College in the coming days, according to Stapleton.
