The facility features a three-tiered driving range with radar and camera systems used in each hitting bay, which will provide gaming possibilities for those who aren't the most experienced of golfers. The gaming experience will have targets with distances from 50 yards to 170 yards, as well as back wall with targets that reach up to 250 yards.

"Early on, we selected the site and put that under contract, and we worked with the architects and engineers to make sure that it would fit," said Swift. "One of the next steps is talking with the city to sort of get a general idea about the compatibility of this use with where we're going, and we were given some encouragement and guidance there...then the planning continued and became a question of securing the funding, which has been done."

The $30 million project is expected to bring about 500 jobs when it opens in 2021.
