Albany, NY (WBEN) Western New York remains on track to begin Phase Three of reopening Tuesday and at his daily press briefing Sunday, Governor Andrew Cuomo added that low-risk, youth sports will be brought back on July 6th. Those sports include baseball, softball, crew, field hockey, gymnastics and cross country. Attendance at those events will be limited to two individuals per child.
Cuomo said that there were 23 COVID related deaths on Saturday and that the hospitalization rate state-wide has fallen to 1,657 which is the lowed amount since March 20th. Here in Western New York, there are fewer than 100 hospitalizations, the lowest mark since March 29th.
