Albany, NY (WBEN) - State Lawmakers wasting little time getting to work on some issues that they started to discuss last year.

Both the Senate and Assembly have submitted an agreed-upon package of comprehensive limo reforms that will change the way the industry is regulated

Reform to the Limo industry has been talked about by lawmakers ever since the tragic 2018 limo crash that killed 20 people.

The reforms range from requiring stretch limos to be retrofitted with seatbelts, to mandating commercial driver’s licenses and drug and alcohol testing for drivers of vehicles of nine or more passengers.

A hotline, app and website will also be created for New Yorkers to report problems with limos.
