Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A new study on sunscreen incredients seeping into the bloodstream of users has a local dermatologist seeing red, if this means people are going to stop using it.
The report in the Journal of the American Medical Association found people tested who used sunscreen four times a day for four days found levels of certain chemicals that exceed the FDA's recommended limits in their blood. The authors note the're uncertain if there are any negative health effects.
Nazareth says there is no long term data on the effects of the study. "We never like to see non-natural chemicals stay in the bloodstream for a period of time when we don't know what the chemicals can do," notes Nazareth.
