BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Teachers at Buffalo Public Schools are expected to report to their respective schools on Tuesday and further details about future days to report is expected to be released by the district.
Buffalo Public Schools, and all schools in Erie County, are closed to students until April 20 in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that has impacted the entire world.
Buffalo Teacher's Federation President Phil Rumore said that teachers will receive the pay as normal under their contractual agreement with the district. Teachers will also not be forced to work in the summer.
"The most important thing is communication," Rumore said. "So that people know what's going to happen and what's not going to happen. Some people are going to be very severely impacted."
Rumore said teachers can follow along with the latest updates by checking their e-mails daily.
