Town of Tonawanda PD investigating false 911 report

Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Town of Tonawanda Police are investigating a dangerous false 911 call that had police rushing to respond to a reported shooting incident inside a town home.

Police responded to an address on Princeton Avenue Sunday at approximately 4:30pm on a report of a possible shooting inside of the home.

A young man told police dispatchers that he shot his mother, that he was going to kill himself and later stated that he was going to kill everyone.

Upon arrival Town of Tonawanda police were able to secure the area and speak with the homeowner at the residence of the reported shooting.  Town of Tonawanda Police did enter the home and verify that the information reported was false.

School activities at Kenmore West Senior High School were disrupted due to the incident, and the local neighborhood was also inconvenienced due to an abundance of caution.
