Two alarm fire in Buffalo, man rescued from 2nd floor

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo fire responded to two alarm fire at 805 East Delavan just before 10pm Saturday night.Officials say firefighters rescued a male in his late 60's, from an upper floor and he was transported by ambulance to ECMC to be treated for smoke inhalation.Fire officials say one of their vehicles, an EMS Response vehicle, was involved in an accident while responding to the fire. The two vehicle accident happened at Bailey Avenue & William Street.Fire officials say the EMS Response vehicle was responding with lights & sirens when the incident occurred.

Both the fire official and the female motorist in the other vehicle, suffered various injuries. The fire official has been treated and released. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and the incident is under investigation.


Fire damage is estimated at $100,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials say exposure damage occurred at 807 East Delavan with damage estimated at $35,000.

The Red Cross is assisting three people.
